Litigation, Municipal
Nichole E. Gertsen is an Associate Attorney at Fahey Schultz Burzych Rhodes PLC, where she represents clients across several practice areas, with a particular focus on municipal litigation and insurance defense.
Her municipal work centers on disputes tied to local government decisions and enforcement, as well as the practical issues that arise in day-to-day operations. Nichole’s experience includes code enforcement, constitutional claims, property rights and transfers, and municipal water and sewer rate matters. Through written and courtroom advocacy, she helps municipalities defend their decisions and advance their interests in litigation.
In insurance defense matters, Nichole takes an active role in investigating claims, evaluating potential liability and exposure, and preparing the defense as each case develops. She reviews documents and prepares discovery requests and witness interview materials. She also contributed to a successful FOIA appeal that secured the requested records relevant to the case.
Nichole enjoys the strategic nature of litigation and the opportunity to advocate on behalf of her clients. She takes the time to listen closely and understand their concerns and objectives because effective representation begins with knowing what matters most to the client.
Outside the office, Nichole enjoys trying new recipes, reading, staying active through workout classes, and spending time with her family.
