Alana E. Ballantyne
Overview & Experience
Alana is an associate attorney with Fahey Schultz Burzych Rhodes PLC. She has settled very comfortably in the firm’s municipal practice group, while also pursuing her sub-specialties with the firm’s administrative and labor and employment law groups.
Alana enjoys assisting local government in the various aspects of zoning and planning, whether it’s working hand-in-hand with a client to determine their zoning needs and drafting ordinances that support the goals of the community or providing counsel regarding compliance with the laws and regulations imposed on municipalities.
Alana has also assisted the firm with large-scale civil litigation. She has been involved in extensive discovery workflow, effectively managing the massive documentary burdens of large cases, and streamlining the review and production processes.
Alana joined Fahey Schultz Burzych Rhodes as a summer associate in 2020, before becoming an associate with the firm in 2021. In her spare time, she enjoys reading books and spending time with family.

- Researched issues, prepared legal opinions, and drafted motions and other pleadings for several complex civil litigation cases
Publications & Presentations
Alana has presented on topics including Zoning and Planning, Attorney-Client Privilege, and the Freedom of Information Act to municipal governments throughout Michigan. She has authored law review articles and legal forum updates on a variety of topics including Intellectual Property, International Relations, and the First Amendment.
