FSBR attorneys Bill Fahey, Steve Schultz and Stacy Hissong are slated to present educational sessions at the Michigan Townships Association's annual conference in Grand Rapids on January 26 and 27, 2011. Bill, a founding member of FSBR, will be presenting on the topic of “Getting Your Agreement on Paper.” He will be explaining how townships can protect themselves from unpleasant contractual outcomes by identifying common situations and relationships that need to be put in writing. Steve, a Township Governance Academy instructor, will be speaking about employment and labor topics, from collective bargaining to independent contractors, to wage and hour issues. Stacy, a veteran drain attorney, will be giving a presentation on the drain code, including what townships need to know about the projects that can be performed under the drain code, how they are paid for, and how to work with the drain commissioner on drain projects. If you are attending the MTA's annual conference, please stop by and see us.
