Fahey Schultz Burzych Rhodes PLC would like to congratulate its newest associates – Chad Karsten, Kendall O’Connor, and Jacob Fox on their recent admissions to the bar. Admission to the bar signifies several years’ worth of studies, as well as the successful passing of the rigorous bar exam.

Attorney Chad Karsten is a May 2019 summa cum laude graduate of MSU Law. Prior to that, he graduated magna cum laude from Grand Valley State University in December 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Although Chad is new to practicing as an attorney at FSBR, he has been employed as a law clerk at the firm for two years prior to his admission to the bar. Chad possesses key qualities that FSBR looks for in an attorney, including excellent analytical, research and writing skills, good judgment, persistence, and great dedication to his work.  Chad particularly enjoys the labor and employment practice, and his calm and relaxed demeanor will put clients at ease knowing that they are in good hands.

Attorney Kendall O’Connor graduated from Michigan State University in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Humanities with honors and recently obtained her law degree from MSU in May 2019, graduating magna cum laude. Like Chad, she has been a law clerk with FSBR for two years.  Kendall exhibits an unrelenting work ethic and commitment to not only the firm, but also to the work of our clients. She is empathetic and takes the time to understand clients’ needs, while taking a strong interest in problem solving and providing real solutions. These unique character traits will assist her in her advocacy for our clients’ best interests. Kendall has found her niche in the firm’s municipal practice.

Attorney Jake Fox graduated summa cum laude as the top graduate in the history program at Alma College. Jake’s interest in Political Science and History led him to law school. Pursuing a law degree at MSU, Jake graduated magna cum laude in May 2019. Jake has been clerking with the firm since late June 2019. In his short time here, he has proven he has what it takes to be a successful attorney at FSBR. Jake possesses good communication skills and is assertive when needed, stating his opinion and making himself heard, while remaining respectful to others. He engenders the epitome of civility and devotion required of those in this profession.  Jake assists the firm’s municipal and drain practice groups.

All three individuals have spent significant time under the leadership wing of long-standing attorney mentors and associates. The members of the firm strongly feel that these three individuals – Chad, Kendall, and Jake – exhibit outstanding qualities and will be a significant asset to our firm. Please join us in welcoming the new lawyers as they begin the practice of law at FSBR.
